This is what I do. You heal at your own pace.

About Nate's AMMA Therapy® practice

Nate Mandigo, AOBTA® Certified Practitioner

My path through the healing arts has been wide‑ranging, hands‑on, and deeply personal. I often tell clients that I’m my own best example. I’ve navigated illness, injury, and the full spectrum of physical, mental, and spiritual challenges. Those experiences shaped my passion for helping others recover and reconnect with their own strength. Over the years, I’ve supported clients through post‑surgical healing, stress‑related pain, long‑term chronic discomfort, and the everyday aches that keep people from feeling fully themselves.

I also bring extensive experience working with psycho‑spiritual disharmonies such as depression, bipolar patterns, PTSD (including cPTSD and TSD), and OCD. While I’m not a licensed counselor, I draw on many years of studying how these experiences can be understood through the lens of Chinese Medicine. My work focuses on offering new perspectives and supportive practices that help clients navigate what they’re feeling with more clarity and compassion.

To stay grounded in my own practice, I’ve trained in the Shao‑lin martial arts system and studied belly dance at the Starbelly School of Dance. Movement fascinates me — the way the body adapts, expresses, and surprises us. My goal is to help clients do the amazing things they want to do by clearing the physical or mental blocks that stand in the way.

Asian Bodywork Therapy

Asian Bodywork Therapy (ABT) is the treatment of the human body/mind/spirit, including the electromagnetic or energetic field which surrounds, infuses and brings that body to life, by using pressure and/or manipulation. Asian Bodywork is based upon Chinese Medical principles for assessing and evaluating the body's energetic system. It uses traditional Asian techniques and treatment strategies to primarily affect and balance the energetic system for the purpose of treating the human body, emotions, mind, energy field and spirit for the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health.

AMMA Therapy®

AMMA Therapy® is a highly refined and complex system of bodywork therapy utilizing techniques and treatment strategies combining the use of Chinese Medicine principles for assessing and evaluating general imbalances in the energetic system and a Western approach to organ dysfunctions. AMMA Therapy® restores, promotes, and maintains optimum health through the treatment of the physical body, the bio-energy, and the emotions, which reflect and are bound into the neuromuscular system. AMMA Therapy® has proven to be an effective healing modality used to treat a wide range of medical conditions. The treatment includes the use of dietary therapy, herbs, nutritional supplements, and the external application of herbal preparations. This method was created by Tina Sohn.

Amma is derived from "Anma" in China. Classic Korean Asian bodywork is called Amma. The name “Am-ma” literally translates to “push-pull.” Amma is a specialized form of skilled (somatic) touch therapy that combines deep tissue bodywork with the application of pressure, friction, and touch to specific acupoints, superficial primary and tendino-muscle energy channels, muscles, ligaments, and joints. It is rooted in the fundamental principles of Chinese Medicine, focusing on the balance and movement of Qi (energy) within the body. The techniques of Amma aim to remove blockages and free the flow of Qi in the body — restoring, promoting, and maintaining optimum health. Amma practitioners are also trained in the principles of wholistic nutrition and Eastern dietary principles.

Acupressure

Acupressure is a system of balancing the body's energy by applying pressure to specific acupoints to release tension and increase circulation. The many hands-on methods of stimulating the acupressure points can strengthen weaknesses, relieve common ailments, prevent health disorders and restore the body's vital life force.

Cupping

Cupping, sometimes called Fire Cupping, is the application of suction to the body to remove deeply stuck,  stagnate , or otherwise pathogenic energies like heat, cold, wind, etc.   The fire is used with glass cups to pull air out of the cup so that when it is applied to the body it sucks onto the skin, the cups themselves are not hot.  Depending on what the cups are removing, it is not uncommon for the cups to leave red to deep purple marks on the body that fade over several days.

Gua Sha

Gua sha is a very old technique for helping the body release stuck energy and pathogens.  Gua sha translates approximately to "scraping the sharks skin" and involves using the edge of a gua sha tool, a chinese soup spoon, or even large coins to abrade the skin.  The technique is especially beneficial for helping clear out the early stages of a cold, releasing stuck muscles near the surface, and alleviating fascial adhesions.
